Internet First – Watch U2 Live Via Youtube

27 October 2009 No Comment

youtubeThe internet is a great tool, whether you use it to flick through endless pictures of fluffy cats, email your friends videos of Rick Astley or spend your days watching hardcore porn (know of which I do) you have to admit this thing we call the world wide web is phenominal.

The internet is again blurring the lines of entertainment as Youtube showed a U2 concert live, for free. U2’s concern in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on the 25th October was streamed live to 16 countries, these were: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, Spain, U.K., U.S. (other countries were presumably excluded due to streaming rights).  You can find it here.

U2 are famously not shy to get in bed with technology and in the past have even released their own branded IPod. The Apple/U2 love affair did end however when the private equity firm Elevation Partners (which U2 lead singer Bono is a partner in) purchased a huge stake in Palm, bad times. (thanks to TechCrunch)

Poor Bono.
