Amazon UK Offer Free Postage For Christmas

26 October 2009 No Comment

amazon_craveAmazon UK have announced that they will be abolishing their Super Saver Delivery threshold until 10th January and offering free deliver on all UK order, regardless of their value.

This is great news for shoppers at Amazon but also great news for any of their affiliates as this move will no doubt improve traffic and conversion rate over the Christmas Period.

Amazon have also been in the news recently regarding the withdrawal of their £25 million Royal Mail contract in light of Christmas strikes that are looming, this was reportedly Royal Mails second biggest account. Home Delivery Network has now picked up the account for parcels over 500 grams but an Amazon spokesman did state that the company would continue to use Royal Mail as a partner.

Its safe to say that privatisation is on the cards for Royal Mail, one of the last publicly owned companies, as the pension deficit is reported to be £3.4 billion but a revaluation is expected to see this figure rise to a staggering £10 billion.

Where did it all go wrong.
